Kenya's national soccer team, Harambee Stars have improved in their rankings by the world's soccer governing body FIFA, moving up 17 places to 115 from previous ranking of 132 in July.

According to the latest FIFA ranking received here Thursday, the east African nation's performance has been boosted by 2-1 victory over fancied Angola early this month

The victory not only ended a disastrous next year's Africa Cup of Nations campaign but also signified a rise in FIFA rankings.

On the other hand, Angola dropped 10 places from 59 as a result of the loss to Kenya.

According to the rankings, of the three East African countries, Kenya trails Uganda who dropped down two places to land at 100 while Tanzania is now ranked at 106 despite dropping four places.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria reclaimed top honors in Africa after leaping ahead of Cameroon who was the top team in July 7 in the Africa category.

Cote d'Ivoire Coast hangs on to third while Guinea displaces Morocco at third. Tunisia continues to hang on as the fourth best African Nation while Morocco completes the top five teams in Africa.
