Eighth seed Sun Peng was beaten by fellow Chibese Yu Xinyuan 6-3, 6-3 while other three seeded players all took their opening round wins at the 2007 ITF Men's Circuit in Beijing on Monday.
Sun,ranked 536th in the world, lost his serve in the first game. Although quickly leveling the score in the second game, he failed to convert any other break points in the following games. Sun struggled to find his form during match and made 46 unforced errors, 16 more than his opponent.
Sixth seed American Phillip King needed 56 minutes to beat Takahiro Ittogi of Japan 6-4, 6-0. Trailing 0-3 in the first set, King began to regain the momentum and broke Ittogi twice to win the set.
Fourth seed Amir Weintraub of Israel came through to the main draw via the qualifying tournament. He beat 1484th-ranked Zhang Ze of China 7-6(5), 6-3.
