Chinese sharpshooter Chen Ying added another gold for the national squad by winning women's 25-meter pistol at the Asian Shooting Championships on Friday, with her points at 793.5.
Sharing the same score of 586 points with Mongolian shooter Tsogbadrah Munkzul, Chen managed to beat the latter in each of the four shots during the final, with her scores listed as 51.0, 52.7,51.4 and 51.4 points.
Tsogbadrah Munkzul settled for a silver with 790.6 points.
Chen, 29, was champion of women's 25-meter pistol at the 2005 World Cup Final, the 2006 World Championships, the Doha Asian Games and the 2007 World Cup Final.
World record of the event was held by Bulgarian shooter Maria Grozdeva with 796.7 points, but Chen was ranked world No.1 in the discipline.
In spite of the previous achievements, Chen said she was nervous during the competition. "My hands are still as cold as ice," she said when stepping out of the shooting range.
Noted that it was her first time to shoot at the Asian Shooting Championships, Chen was dissatisfied with her performance at the qualification round.
"In the second stage, rapid fire, I just scored 294 points," she said.
Her scores in practices always lingered around 298 points, and sometimes, 300.
But Gao Zhidan, China's top official of the shooting sport, was impressed by her performance in the first stage, the precision part.
"It was not her strong point, but Chen collected a 292," he said.
