Under the leadership of the new captain Pakistani cricket team is willing to challenge the Aussies in the second Test match starting Wednesday at Leeds, Britain.

Pakistani team is desperate to level the series, Australian already leading by 1-0, and to break the defeat streak continues from 1995.

During last 15 years Pakistan has lost 13 test matches against Australia but could not win a single one.

Pakistani team is playing a two Test match series against Australia in England. Pakistani people and cricket experts got surprised when newly appointed Test Captain Shahid Afridi resigned after the defeat in the very first match of his captaincy career last week at Lord's cricket ground.

After this untimely blow Pakistan Cricket Board appointed left handed opening batsman Salman Butt as a new captain of the team for the rest of the series.

Butt's considered positive temperament will be tested in his first test match as captain against Aussies' skipper Ricky Ponting ready to lead his guys 71st time in this tough form of cricket.

Responding the people's reservations over his captaincy and expected troubles in the upcoming Test match at LEEDS Butt said, " All my life, from teenage cricket up to this level I have been captain throughout. I think I should enjoy it. It's a challenge, it 's a young unit, and it shouldn't be that much of a hassle."

"Every captain has his own way. There's no point criticizing or discussing others, let's see how I go about it. We have to bat longer, put some more runs on the board," Butt expressed during a media briefing at LEEDS on Tuesday evening.

Pakistani selectors are considering former captain Shoaib Malik to replace Afridi in the team for the Test match going to be started on July 21.

Australian heroes of Lord's test fast blower Benjamin Hilfenhaus and spinner Marcus North are reported unfit and might miss the second Test match.
