Top seed Go Soeda of Japan advanced to the quarterfinals by beating South Korean Kim Cheong-Eui 6-2, 6-4 at ITF Men's Circuit in Beijing on Thursday.
Soeda took a 3-0 lead at the beginning of the first set. After converting three out of five break points opportunities, he sealed the set 6-2.
In the second set, Soeda lost the first three games but struggled to find his form, managing to control the rhythm of the match in time and won five straight games to finish the match in one hour and 24 minutes.
Next round top seed will meet another South Korean, fifth-seeded Jun Woong-Sun, who beat Gyorgy Balazs of Hungary 6-1,7-5.
Third seed Chen Ti of Chinese Taipei beat Russian player Andrei Plotniy, 6-3, 7-5. He will take on local hope Zeng Shaoxuan, who upset Yi Chun-Huan of Chinese Taipei 6-2, 7-6(3), in the quarterfinals.
