Sixth seed Davis Ferrer beat Frenchman Richard Gasquet 6-1, 6-1 in the last round robin match of the Gold Group at the Masters Cup to make semifinals here on Thursday.
By winning this match, Spaniard Ferrer also sent his countryman Rafael Nadal, who compiled 2-1 record, into next round of last four.
The 25-year-old Ferrer seemed to be in supreme shape as he kepta clean sheet of 3-0 in the group stage, including upsetting world No.3 Djokovic in the opening match and number two Nadal in the second match.
Ferrer has enjoyed the best season of his career, winning three ATP titles at Auckland, Bastad and Tokyo.
