It's hard to overstate what a disadvantage it has been for Li Na to come to tennis from China, a nation with virtually no tradition in the sport, and it's easy to underestimate how many grounds Li has had to cover from an unknown Chinese novelty of yesterday to where she is today — lofting a Grand Slam singles trophy, beaming.
