Nicaragua picks Cuba friendly for baseball Pre World Cup

The Nicaraguan national baseball team will have many matches against Cuba as part of its preparations for the Baseball Pre World Cup in Puerto Rico to be hosted from Oct. 1 to 6, sport sources said on Tuesday.
President of the Sports Writers Association of Nicaragua (ACDN) Moises Avalos told Xinhua that the Nicaraguan team will play against Cuba from Sept. 21 to 27.
Adolfo Marenco, President of the Nicaraguan Federation of Associated Baseball (FENIBA) and also spokesman of the Nicaraguan Olympic Committee (CON), said Monday that Nicaragua will travel after the training matches on Oct. 1 to Puerto Rico, where they expect to have a good place and get the ticket to the World Cup and Pan American Games 2011.
The Nicaraguan team has to be placed in top six of the Pre World Cup to get its ticket to the World Cup, and to be at least in the 7th place to attend the Pan American Games.
