The Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) has invited Manchester United, recent winner of UEFA Champions League, to play a friendly match in Vietnam next September, local newspaper Labor reported Wednesday.

The state-owned bank will work with the Vietnam Football Federation this week to facilitate the plan on inviting the English team.

The team has plans on touring some Asian countries in September2009, the newspaper said.
