Head coach of the Flamengo soccer team Rogerio Lourenco admitted on Saturday he is having difficulty in naming a new team captain.

With the absence of goalkeeper and team captain Bruno due to his involvement in the kidnapping and murder of his ex-girlfriend Eliza Samudio, the team is left without its leader.

The coach has had nearly two weeks to think about Bruno's replacement after reports surfaced that Bruno had his ex-girlfriend and mother of his 4-month-old baby boy killed.

After hearing the news of Bruno's dismissal from the team, fullback Leonardo Moura publicly declared his readiness to become the team's leader.

Lourenco revealed that the decision lies between Moura and Serbian native Petkovic. However, the coach reminded the public that both players have been the captain of Flamengo at one point in their respective careers. He stated the need for change and said he is prepared to do so.

Regardless of his decision, the coach will have to make up his mind by July 14 when his team hosts Botafogo in the 8th round of the Brazilian Championship.

Additionally, the coach will have to decide which of his four reserve goalkeepers will get the opportunity to start in Wednesday's game.
