Internacional cruses past Guarani 3-0

Celso Roth won in his debut as head coach of the Internacional soccer team on Wednesday. In the return to action of the Brazilian Championship after a month-long recess due to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, Internacional beat Guarani 3-0.

Internacional scored their first goal in the 59th minute. After a give-and-go from Giuliano, Kleber passed the ball off to Sandro who then pounded the ball past Guarani's goalie, Douglas.

The team's second goal came in the 71st minute when Alecsandro sent a rebounded shot from Andrezinho, blowing the ball into the back of the net. The third goal came at 90+2 when Taison drove down the field and slid the ball past an approaching Douglas.

Improving four spots with the win, Internacional stands in 11th place with 10 points. Guarani dropped two positions, standing in 7th place with 12 points.

In the 9th round of play, Internacional will host second place Ceara on July 17. On the same day, Gaurani travels to play Botafogo.
