Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho has repeated his wish to take Chelsea defender Ricardo Carvalho to his new club.
Mourinho was the man responsible for signing Carvalho from Chelsea after working with the defender at Porto, where he was a key part of the UEFA Cup and Champions League winning sides.
Despite Carvalho's age, 32, Mourinho makes no secret that he would like to once again work with the classy center-half.
"I have always said that Carvalho is one of the best central defenders in the World," he said in an interview with Portuguese television station TVI on Wednesday.
"He is at the moment of his maximum maturity," he added, insisting that the player's age would not be a barrier to taking him to Real Madrid.
Carvalho has already publicly stated that would leap at the chance to sign for the Spanish side after six seasons with Chelsea and Mourinho is clearly optimistic of completing the deal.
"We will see what happens," he said. The coach did, however, pour cold water on rumors of interest in Brazilian defender David Luz.
"I like him a lot, but he won't come to Real Madrid this year. I am not thinking about him for this season at all," said Mourinho.
