Uruguayan residents will be able to see a lunar eclipse in the country Tuesday, the Los Molinos Astronomical Observatory (OLAM) said in a statement Sunday.
The lunar eclipse will start at 5:15 a.m. and end at 7:13 a.m. local time. The moon will be completely obscured for 20 minutes, the OLAM said, adding that "We want to warn the population about the phenomenon."
A lunar eclipse occurs when the earth comes between the moon and the sun. The last such eclipse seen in Uruguay was on March 3 this year.
Tuesday's lunar eclipse will be seen in North America, South America, the Pacific, Australia, East Asia and New Zealand.
