China will have around 1,250 civil aviation transport planes by 2010, said Luo Yaguang on August 11, head of Recruitment Office of China Civil Aviation Flight University. Therefore, in the next three years, China must train another 6,500 pilots, so as to meet its demand.
Luo Yaguang introduced that the Civil Aviation Flight University has gradually expanded recruitment scale. Four years ago, it only recruited more than 500 students every year. This year the recruitment number has already exceeded 1,200. However, this is still far from enough to meet the needs of airlines. In years to come, China will be able to effectively fill up the gap of pilot demand by promoting pilot training funded by personal expense. This will also become a new trend.
