Kim Jong Il, top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), said universities should attach greater importance to foreign language studies, the Rodong Sinmun daily reported Friday.
During an inspection tour of the Hamhung University of Medicinein the northeast of the country, the DPRK top leader said a good command of foreign languages would be of great help for students to learn advanced medical technologies from abroad, the daily reported.
The most important task facing the university is to bring up its students as genuine revolutionaries who are not only faithful to the party and the revolution but also have a deep love for human beings, Kim said.
He also hoped that the university would improve teaching methods in order to train students into capable medical workers, the report said. Source: Xinhua
