The Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) will fully commence its talent cultivation and import system starting in 2009 and is planning to bring in from overseas a total of 600 individuals within the next five years, according to reports from the 2009 working conference held by CAS on January 12.
Bai Chunli, the CAS Vice President, said that the talent cultivation and import system will integrate CAS' various talent programs into four major plans: the high-level talent cultivation and import plan, the outstanding young talent cultivation plan, the support and management talent cultivation plan, and the overseas elite import and international talent exchange and cultivation plan.
