The Picasso Museum in the coastal town of Antibes in southeast France is to reopen Sunday after renovation, according to the local press.
The one-year renovation, which cost 4 million euro (6.32 million U.S. dollars), has improved the museum's safety facilities to better protect exhibits while updating its temperature and humidity controlling systems to make visitors more comfortable, said a museum staff in charge.
The art gallery located in the ancient Chateau Grimaldi displays 275 works of Picasso and others by some noted painters.
Pablo Picasso was born on Oct. 25, 1881 in Malaga, Spain and died on April 8, 1973 in Mougins, France. He lived briefly in Antibes between September and November in 1946.
