Three more deaths and 118 new cases of the A/H1N1 influenza were confirmed in Latin America on Monday.
Honduran Health Minister Carlos Aguilar confirmed the first death of the A/H1N1 flu in the country, meanwhile the positive cases in the country rose from 108 to 118.
In Chile, the death toll rose to seven with two new deaths confirmed, the health authorities said, but they did not reveal new infection cases.
The Brazilian Health Ministry reported 25 new cases, which brought the number of the infected in the country to 240, with Sao Paulo, Santa Catarina, and Rio do Janeiro being the most affected states.
The Peruvian Health Ministry confirmed in a statement seven new cases which brought the total to 225 in the country.
The Venezuelan Health Ministry reported a total of 117 cases after adding 46 new cases, with more than half of the patients infected in the United States, the authorities said.
The Ecuadorian Public Health Ministry reported 12 new cases, bringing the infection number to 115 in the country.
In Colombia, the Social Protection Ministry said in a statement that the positive cases in the country rose to 71 with three new ones.
The Paraguayan Health Minister confirmed a total of 55 cases in the country after reporting seven new cases.
Meanwhile, Bolivian Health Minister Ramiro Tapia said in a press conference that the total number of confirmed cases in the country was 30, after confirming eight new cases.
The World Health Organization (WHO) reported on Friday 7,873 new cases, including 51 new deaths, in 99 countries and regions, which brings the total number of the flu cases to 52,160, including 231 deaths, since the outbreak of the disease in Mexico.
