Precious fossils of three dinosaurs airlifted in from southwest China's Yunan province were unveiled on Tuesday inside the new China Science and Technology Museum in Beijing.

The fossils include the herbivory Lufengosaurus huenei, which measures 7.1 meters long and 2.6 meters tall, slightly larger than the carnivorous dilophosaurus sinensis.

Both sets of fossils are around 90 percent complete and date back 180 million years to the Jurassic period. But the two were conspicuously dwarfed by the Chuanjiesaurus anaensis, which is 27 meters long and 6.5 meters tall.

The three sets of fossils will be put on permanent display in the museum's spacious main hall when the museum officially opens to the public on September 6.

Earlier reports said organizers of the exhibit had taken extensive pains to ensure the fossils' safety during transportation from Chuxiong county in Yunan and fine-tuned the environment in the hall to acclimate the fossils in their new settlement.
