A pregnant woman in Taiwan died ofA/H1N1 influenza on Sunday, bringing the island's flu death toll to 17, according to the local epidemic control authorities Monday.

The 23-year-old woman developed cold-related symptoms on Sept. 15 and was sent to hospital on Sept. 17 in eastern Taidong County. After medical treatment, her temperature returned to normal and she was sent back home, according to local media report.

On Sunday, the woman's illness deteriorated and she died while being transferred to a hospital. Her eight-month-old foetus was also dead.
