Situated on the Tagong Grasslands of Kangding City, the Tagong Monastery is a well-known landmark of the Sakya Sect. Also called Lhagang Gompa, this monastery is said to date back more than 1,000 years. From the Tagong Monastery, you can enjoy a vista of Zhara Sacred Mountain (5,820 meters) from a distance. Zhara Sacred Mountain is located in western Sichuan Province, which is one of the top nine sacred mountains in ancient Tibetan tales. (Xinhuanet Photo)
