The great Chongqing hotpot dinner kicked off October 31, 2009. It last from 4:00 pm to 12 am. There were 1,100 tables, which accommodated 11,000 people for hotpot. A large amount of food was consumed for the event, including 25,000 kg of beef stomach and 22,500 kg of duck intestines. It is estimated that some 200,000 people attended the banquet.
