Traditional Chinese snacks

The Wanfeng China Snacks City on Wangfeng Lu, Fengtai district, is set for completion by the end of December, in time for business around the Spring Festival in February. It will house more than 43 traditional snacks brand names from across China, including the 56 ethnic nationalities. The district government has said 200 million yuan will be invested into building Wanfeng Lu into another food street in Beijing.

Spanish food festival

Golden Jaguar's promotion of Spanish food this month offers such specialties as seafood rice, rack of lamb from Pyrenees, olive and seafood pot, in addition to Deguste olive oil and Spanish wines. Also watch Spanish dance shows and take part in a lucky draw. Wangfujing branch: 6559-8888

New French wines

France's Chateau Pichon-Longueville has announced a strategic cooperation with COFCO Wines and Spirits, with the release of two new wines. The Chateau Pichon-Longueville is powerful and rich in tannins, while Les Tourelles de Longueville is a supple, delicate and seductive wine. Both are now available in upscale restaurants, hotels, and wine houses in Beijing.

New bites at Pizza Hut

Pizza Hut recently released its new menu in Beijing, printed with 24 fashion models holding as many new dishes. In addition to pizzas, there are appetizers, salads, pastas, braised rice, grilled fare and desserts. The most popular meal for men is grilled English-style pork, and the favorite food of women is blueberry cheesecake, the restaurant says. Pizza Hut has been changing its menu every six months since September 2008. After introducing 30 new dishes for spring, the eatery introduced another 24 starting on Sept 28. Three pizzas covered with bacon, chicken and minced pork are on sale for 49 yuan apiece.
