Tourists visit Shuri Castle in Naha City in Okinawa, south Japan, May 20, 2010. Shuri Castle served as the proud and dignified center of Ryukyu Kingdom for about 500 years. With architectural influences from both China and Japan ,the castle shows its exceptional and historical values in its unique stonework and architectural design. It was designated as a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) in 2000. (Xinhua/Ji Chunpeng)
