Feng Xiaogang's IMAX film "Aftershock", slated for release on July 22 in the Chinese mainland, will lead a diversified list of 20 new releases for the summer season, Guangzhou Daily reports.
In the 41 days following "Aftershock's" opening, movie-goers will be able to see on average one new film every two days.
"Aftershock" is about a family separated by the 1976 Tangshan earthquake. The film is hailed by critics as the most anticipated film of the summer.
The romantic film "Love in Disguise", the directorial debut of musician-turned-filmmaker Lee-Hom Wang, will open on August 12. Wang also stars in the film, playing a popular singer who disguises himself as a college undergraduate so he can pursue his schoolmate played by Liu Yifei.
