A crop circle is a large pattern created by the flattening of a crop such as wheat or maize.
The first crop circle was found in Warminster, England, in the 1970s. Since then, hundreds of "crop circles" have been found all around the world, with 90% from the UK.
In 1991, two men from Southampton, England, announced that they had conceived the idea as a prank. Thereafter, many individuals and organizations claimed they had participated in building the "crop circles."
