An American woman has denied offering sex in exchange for tickets to this year's baseball World Series.

Married Philadelphia resident Susan Finkelstein told The AP that she still hoped to attend a game with her husband despite being arrested after meeting an undercover police officer responding to her Craigslist notice.

Her lawyer William J. Brennan said that his client was "a nice lady overcome with Phillies fever" and had not explicitly offered sexual services for tickets.

Brennan stated: "If somebody read into that posting a sexual connotation, that's on them. There's no overt sexual reference."

Finkelstein added: "I didn't do anything wrong, so I'm not embarrassed about my actions. I'm embarrassed about how I was arrested.

"It definitely wasn't worth all this... turmoil and anxiety. Hopefully, the silver lining is I do get to see the game."

She was offered a pair of tickets to a weekend game in Philadelphia from a car dealer and radio station.
