Poland has detected a fourth outbreak of H5N1 bird flu in the center of the country, about 50 km from the three sites found last week, veterinary officials said Saturday.
A 3-km safety perimeter has been set up around the site, according to the authorities.
Last week, the H5N1 virus was detected in three farms some 100 km northwest of Poland's capital of Warsaw.
Agriculture Minister Marek Sawicki said on Polish Radio One there was so far no threat to people's lives and health.
He also pledged that the affected farmers would receive appropriate damages for any slaughtered stock. Source:Xinhua
