The Chinese mainland reported 10 new confirmed A/H1N1 flu cases Wednesday, bringing the total number to 111.

There have been no reports of deaths from A/H1N1 flu on the Chinese mainland, the Ministry of Health said.

Three new cases were confirmed in southern Guangdong Province Wednesday, including a 54-year-old Philippine woman, the Guangdong Provincial Health Department told reporters.

Beijing reported two new cases, including a 12-year-old Chinese-Canadian girl who had returned from Toronto and a 59-year-old Chinese woman who had exposed herself to a confirmed flu patient in southwestern Sichuan Province and was infected through local transmission.

In Shanghai, a young boy and a young girl, both Chinese, tested positive for the flu virus Wednesday. The two studied in the United States and had just returned to China.

One new case each from provinces of Shandong, Fujian and Hubei were also reported Wednesday, local health authorities said.

In the eastern Shandong Province, the new confirmed patient was a 47-year-old American man, and in the southeastern Fujian Province, the new case was a 15-year-old American girl.

The new case in central Hubei Province, a 23-year-old Chinese woman, was infected through local transmission, the health department said.

According to the Ministry of Health, 29 confirmed A/H1N1 flu cases have been reported in Beijing, 27 in Guangdong, 18 in Fujian,13 in Shanghai, 10 in Sichuan, four in Hubei, three in Shandong, two each in Zhejiang and Hunan, and one each in Shanxi, Henan and Tianjin.

Of the 111 cases, 58 have been discharged from hospital, the ministry said.
