Beijing confirmed eight new A/H1N1 flu cases Friday, including five more students at a primary school, the municipal health bureau said.

As of 7 p.m. Friday, 22 students at the Nanhu Zhongyuan Primary School in Chaoyang District are all in stable condition, according to the bureau.

The school earlier reported seven cases Wednesday and another 10 cases Thursday.

The flu outbreak has forced the school to start the summer vacation a week ahead of schedule.

The primary school has 941 students and 78 teachers.

The new cases brings the total number in Beijing to 179 by 7 p.m. Friday, among whom 112 have recovered and have been discharged from hospitals.
