She was admitted in North West Hospital in Hayatabad, a modern suburb on the southwestern fringe of Peshawar, where her blood samples were obtained for laboratory tests by the World Health Organization (WHO) team who later confirmed the A/H1N1 influenza.
After confirmation of the A/H1N1 influenza in the Afghan female, the hospital authorities also obtained the blood samples of the newborn baby of the infected female, her attendants and the staff of the hospital, the hospital authorities said.
