The Beijing office of the Taiwan Strait Tourism Association (TSTA) held its grand opening around 10 a.m. today. The office, located at the LG Twin Towers near Chang'an Avenue in Beijing, will offer an effective platform for reciprocal communications and exchanges in tourism across the Taiwan Strait.
"I believed that the two sides set up tourism offices mutually, which meant positive progress for exchange and interaction in various aspects across the Strait," said Shao Qiwei, president of the Chinese mainland's Cross-Strait Tourism Exchange Association (CSTEA).
The establishment of the Taiwan Strait Tourism Association Beijing office would promote the tourism industry of Taiwan and introduce Taiwan's sightseeing spots to the people of the Chinese mainland, said Lai Sezhen, president of the Taiwan Strait Tourism Association.
