5.4-magnitude quake hits Halmahera, Indonesia -- USGS

HONG KONG, Dec.29 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale jolted Halmahera, Indonesia at 17:33 GMT on Wednesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 159.70 km, was initially determined to be at 1.6658 degrees north latitude and 127.5154 degrees east longitude.
