
ISTANBUL, March 30 (Xinhua) -- Two people were killed and another was injured in a fire following an explosion in Turkey's largest city Istanbul on Friday.
The explosion occurred at a cafe located on the basement floor of a building in Orhan Gazi Street of the Esenler district at around 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT). A fire broke out after the explosion.
Two firefighters who tore down a wall and entered the premises with oxygen masks managed to rescue one man with heavy injuries, while two women were found dead.
The wounded man was taken to Bagcilar Training and Research Hospital for treatment, according a report of Daily News.
It was learned that the victims were employees working at the cafe.
Officials have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the blast.
