To mark the 25th anniversary of the twinning cities of Paris and Berlin, around 140 United Buddy Bears were on display on the Champ de Mars in Paris, France, Oct. 13, 2012.
The two-meter tall Buddy Bears represent countries recognized by the United Nations and each of them is designed and created by different artists on behalf of their native countries.
The Buddy Bears standing together "hand in hand" symbolize the future vision of a peaceful and harmonious world.
Since 2002, the United Buddy Bear Exhibition has been held in 25 cities around the globe, raising more than 1.9 million euros in aid of United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) and local children’s relief organizations.
