Tashkent, Dec. 19 (People’s Daily Online) –Snowflakes are whirling outside, and “Snowflakes” of gymnastics are dancing with rhythmic music and competing for the prizes in a children’s sports center, Uzbekistan’s capital Tashkent, on Wednesday.
The fairylike young competitors are from Tashkent sports clubs and local primary schools. They are dancing with ropes, rings, stick and balls. Audiences and judges are fascinated by their prefect performance.
“Snowflakes” Gymnastics Championship is sponsored by Forum of Culture and Arts of Uzbekistan Foundation. The objective of the tournament is to promote gymnastics in Uzbekistan.
The foundation was created by Gulnara Karimova, founder and patron of a number of well-known social, cultural organizations in Uzbekistan, in 2004, today has become a leading NGO in the region, which seeks to support and develop local culture, art, science, education, sports, health, charity and social protection.
Today, the foundation has cooperated with six social organizations, nine associations and creative groups, and 22 children and youth’s sports centers. Since 2004, the foundation has initiated and organized more than 2,000 activities, which were engaged by more than 7 million beneficiaries.
