Israelis rally in protest of shrinking government funding for children with autism in Jerusalem, on Jan. 4, 2013. According to the data published by the Ministry of Welfare and Social Affairs, every one in 100 babies born in Israel suffers from autism. In addition, the data revealed that since 2000 the number of children registered with the ministry as suffering from autism has multiplied by no less than 50 times, from 156 in 2000 to 7,899 in 2012. However, the budget in the ministry allocated to helping people with autism only increased by 9.5 throughout this period. (Xinhua/Yin Dongxun)
