ISLAMABAD, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- The death toll of three separate bomb attacks on army vehicles in northwest Pakistan on Sunday afternoon has risen to 17, according to local media reports.
A total of 25 soldiers were also reportedly injured in the three attacks.
According to local Urdu TV channel Express, the first blast took place at about 2:10 p.m. local time when an army convoy was hit by a remote-controlled bomb while on its way from Razmak to Miranshah in North Waziristan, a tribal area in northwest Pakistan, which borders Afghanistan.
At least 14 soldiers were killed and 21 others injured in the blast, said the report.
The second blast occurred about one hour later when another army convoy was hit by a remote-controlled bomb in a small town of Shabqadar in Charsadda district in the country's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, leaving three soldiers killed and one wounded.
Immediate following this, there came a report saying that an army vehicle hit a landmine in Mohmand Agency, another tribal area in northwest Pakista, leaving three soldiers wounded.
No group has claimed responsibility for the bomb attacks.
