Asiana crash: Injured passengers back to China next Thursday

BEIJING, July 11 (Xinhuanet) -- An emergency team set up by Asiana Airlines says families of the Chinese victims onboard Flight 214 are setting out for San Francisco on Thursday and Friday.

141 Chinese were among the 291 passengers on the Boeing 777 that crash landed at San Francisco International Airport on Saturday. Two have died and one remains in critical condition. The team says the injured Chinese are expected to return to China starting next week. It’s urging the Asiana headquarters to draw up compensation plans.

Moon Meyong-Yong, Asiana emergency team, said, "They’ll begin returning to China next Thursday. We have set up offices in Hangzhou and Shanghai for our Chinese passengers. We will arrange hospitals for the injured. If they need anything, we’ll take care of it. We’ve told our headquarters to come up with an initial compensation plan before their return."
