KABUL, Nov. 24 -- One dozen Taliban militants were killed in separate military operations across Afghanistan, said the country's Interior Ministry on Sunday.
"In the past 24 hours, Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) and the NATO-led coalition troops conducted several cleanup operations in Kabul, Kandahar, Zabul, Wardak, Logar, Ghazni and Nimroz provinces. As a result 12 armed Taliban members were killed, five wounded and eight others were arrested by the ANSF," the ministry said in a statement.
They also seized weapons and defused several mines and roadside bombs, the statement noted.
The Taliban insurgent group, which has been waging an insurgency of more than one decade, has yet to make comments.
