On Dec. 4, Roland Gerke, the president of Siemens Ltd., China, apologized for the failure of doors on some Siemens refrigerator units to close properly.
He promised Siemens will provide free on-site services for customers, no matter whether their fridges are within the warranty period or not.
Mr. Gerke said Siemens will open a microblog to solve online complaints and receive applications for repairs. If customers have noticed their fridge doors cannot close easily, Siemens will provide free door modifications under certain conditions.
