Expo shows off China's green food bounty

On Dec. 2, the China Green Food Exposition 2011 opened in Guangzhou. The exhibition area totaled 22,000 square meters and more than 1,000 enterprises participated. The products exhibited include green food and also organic farm products, pollution-free farm products and landmark farm products.

Zhang Yuxiang, an official from the Ministry of Agriculture of China, said that the number of China's green food enterprises has currently exceeded 6,700, with more than 17,000 kinds of products , and the annual sales volume has reached about 300 billion yuan.

They have established 479 standard raw material production bases. The "pollution-free, green, organic and landmark farm products" in China have been playing demonstration roles in accelerating China's standard agricultural production and effectively promoting the construction of the agricultural modernization.
