
HONG KONG, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) -- The official foreign currency reserve assets of Hong Kong amounted to 301.2 billion U.S. dollars at the end of September, 2012, up 3 billion U.S. dollars from the 298.2 U.S. dollars at the end of August this year, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority said here Monday.
Including unsettled forward contracts, the foreign currency reserve assets of Hong Kong at the end of this September stood at 301.2 billion U.S. dollars.
The total foreign currency reserve assets of the 301.2 billion U.S. dollars represent about eight times the currency in circulation or 55 percent of Hong Kong dollar M3.
