CHINA Eastern Airlines will launch daily flights from Shanghai to San Francisco in the United States on April 26 to meet traffic demand.

"The new route is to meet the increasing demand for travelers and businesspersons between the two cities," the Shanghai-based airline said yesterday.

The carrier will use the Airbus A330-200 on the route from the Pudong International Airport to San Francisco.

Shanghai now has direct flights to US cities such as Los Angeles, New York and Hawaii.
