Industrial Bank makes Fortune 500 list

Industrial Bank Co has cracked Fortune's Global 500 list for the first time, landing itself in 428th position.

A total of 95 Chinese companies have made it onto the list recently released by the US magazine, which ranks companies worldwide based on their overall revenue.

The Fuzhou-based, Shanghai-listed lender registered revenue totaling $27.25 billion last year.

The total revenue of the top 95 Chinese companies amounted to $5.2 trillion in 2012, accounting for 17 percent of the total revenue generated by the 500 companies on the list, the magazine reported.

The number of Chinese companies on the list is second only to the US, which has 132 entries.
