Tickets for the Sochi Winter Paralympic Games went on sale Friday amid concerns that the games could not draw enough spectators.
The prices range between 350 and 1,500 rubles (some 10 to 30 U.S. dollars). The exceptions are the tickets for opening and closing ceremonies, where the tickets have been sold for 700 to 5,000 rubles and 400 to 2,000 rubles respectively.
Like the tickets of the Sochi Winter Olympic Games, visitors can purchase tickets for the Paralympics through the steering committee's official online sales point.
Earlier this day, head of the Russian Paralympic Committee Mikhail Terentyev expressed his fear that the games will attract few spectators and call everyone to visit the Games.
"At the moment there are big dangers regarding the filling of the stands with spectators," he told the R-Sport, adding some big sports facilities had been built.
"This (higher attendance) will help not only Russia but entire Paralympic movement to attract sponsors, partners," he said.
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, who is in Sochi on Friday for an international investment forum, said he was going to attend the Paralympic Games.
The 11th Paralympic Games are slated for March 7 to 16, 2014, soon after the 22nd Olympic Games is over on Feb. 23 in the Russian Black Sea resort of Sochi.
