
The 69th Venice International Film Festival closed on the evening of September 8 local time in Lido of Venice. Pieta, directed by Korean director Ki-duk Kim, won the Golden Lion Prize, and American director Paul Thomas Anderson won the Silver Lion Prize for The Master.
Three sisters, a documentary directed by Chinese director Wang Bing, won the best film award in the Horizons section.
