Located on busy Nanjing Road, the former site of Shanghai Art Museum has 12 exhibition halls, covering more than 6,000 square meters. Built in 1930's, it used to be the club house of Shanghai's Race Club and it was renovated as a museum in 2000. The museum had been moved to a new place as a part of China Art Palace, and the former site will be closed on Dec. 31, 2012.
