A Chinese production company has released the ultimate trailer and new portrait posters for sci-fi epic "Cloud Atlas" in order to give Chinese audiences a taste of what's in store.

Dreams of Dragon Pictures Co., Ltd., the film project investor and Chinese distributor, stated they have invested more than US$10 million in the movie, which makes for the biggest investment ever poured into a foreign project by a Chinese film company.

The participation of Dreams of Dragon Pictures, accounting for the film's second biggest overseas investment, also helped secure roles for Chinese actresses Zhou Xun and Zhu Zhu in the film.

The film's budget eventually reached a massive US$102 million, making "Cloud Atlas" one of the most expensive independent films of all time.
