A 48-meter-high Amitabha Buddha under construction in Xingzi county, east China's Jiangxi province has been gilded and unveiled. The Buddha statue has been recognized as the highest Amitabha Buddha in the world and the only outdoor Amitabha Buddha in China. A total of 48-kilogram gold has been used to gild the Statue. Now, the project has come to the end phase.
The overall style of the Amitabha Buddha imitates the Buddha statues in the Longmen Grottoes and it can be regarded as a fine religious art with the highest level in the modem society, according to the principal of the project.
